Very interesting site, looking forward to following you on your adventure. Hope to be out there soon myself.
Your comment in “a new rig” post about the Styrofoam brought a smile to my face. My father borrowed a small Styrofoam sail boat when I was ten years old to see if I liked sailing. I spent the whole summer holidays sailing on the lake. It was my introduction to sailing and have been hooked ever since.
I have never seen a Styrofoam boat since, but they did make them…… Thanks for bringing back some great memories.
    cheers,
    Alan

      Hi Alan,

That is too funny! I bet it took just one person to pick it up 🙂

  2. I can really relate to the ‘not spring chickens anymore’ statement. Man, it takes me days to recover from a day of hard work, and I can’t last all day long like I used to, either. The head is willing, but the body isn’t. I will be interested to read Cindy’s thoughts about leaving the house behind and marina life. I still struggle with letting go of our house, but it’s going to have to happen. We enjoy hanging out at the marina here, but I’m not sure how I will feel about living there. It’s nice that you have made so many new friends in yours.

Nothing really important to say, I just wanted to send a comment that I am reading through your blog and, for the moment, still land-locked/job-locked. I hope soon to join you (I mean all of you cruisers, not you personally) out there in the sea. Sail on.

      Hi Eric

Thanks for checking out our site. We hope you are able to rid yourself of the land locked job and follow your dream, as we did. We hope you find us one day in a nice cove and join us for a sundowner, or two.

  4. Is the photo on your website banner from Key West by any chance? It looks really similar to a bar we saw there the other day. I remember liking all of the different colors.

Hope your mayo experiment goes well!

      Hi Ellen,

Yes. Good eye. The bar stools and umbrella picture is Sunset Pier at Key West.

The mayo experiment? So far, I’m still vertical.

  5. Great shot in your rear view mirror! What a big step. Congratulations! All those lovely check marks must be very satisfying! Enjoy your next adventure!
We are happy to have the tranny back together and are excited to sail tomorrow.
    Hope all is well!

I was so glad to catch y’all one last time before you left time! Your forthcoming adventure sounds AMAZING!

  8. It was nice hearing from you again. Having just read your recent post about long ago friends and the reunion that followed, it is a wonderful surprise that you experienced! Much like my Navy Seal friend John and I running into each other after almost 30 years in the airport, just Karma I suppose. Anyway, see you out “there” someday soon!

Hi Gary, Thanks for stopping by and checking us out. And, thank you for the complements. The blog is powered by WordPress and uses a theme template called Adventure Journal. I have customized the theme with a ton of changes and plugins to the point where it is unrecognizable from when we first stated.

I am happy to hear that you enjoy blogging! Because I enjoy your blog. It’s like reading a reality novel. I was going through my email this morning and it always gives a grin to see that you guys have posted.

At 12 degrees here today in the Detroit area; it is nice to see sunshine and smiling faces. Thanks!
