Oxford, MD

I think the people who purchased homes in Oxford must have to pass a gardening test as a prerequisite. This is a sleepy little river town on the Tred Avon river. If by the pictures you think the town is small, you’re right. It took us little less than a day to walk the entire town. What it lacks in shopping and restaurants is more than made up for in beautifully landscaped gardens. As we walked along the sidewalks, well not really on the sidewalks since there were very few cars. Most time we meandered down the middle of the road. Anyway, as we meandered, our senses were overwhelmed with bright colors, the perfume like scent of flowers and birds singing.

The town boasts a lot of first class bed and breakfasts. When we looked at the location on the map we realized it is within a couple of hours drive of Washington DC and Baltimore MD making it the perfect place for a romantic get away over a weekend. It is an ideal place to relax, read a good book and take lots of naps.
